Ski area Tignes - Val d'Isère

The "Tignes - Val d'Isère" lift pass grants you access to 300 km of the best prepared pistes, of which are expertly interconnected through 86 lifts. The ski area is especially snow sure thanks to its two glaciers, "La Grande Motte" and "Pissaillas," and is popular with both beginners and experts alike.

The ski areas of Tignes and Val d'Isère each offer 150 km of diverse pistes and are connect with each other along the Bellevarde (2,827 m). When looking out from Tignes, you'll have several different views to take in of the mountain lake, Lac du Chevril. Moreover, the area also provides beginners with a great starting point on the Col du Palet as well as green and blue pistes on the upper-half of the Tignes Le Lac. Skiers looking for more of a challenge will find exactly what they're looking for in the glacier ski area on Grande Motte, where legendary views await at an altitude of 3,456 m. Secured and controlled deep snow areas in the Vallon de la Sache also create a paradise for freeriders and diverse skiers. Here, you can take on and conquer a length of 2.8 km and an altitude difference of 1,198 m! A unique experience awaits in the snow park of Tignes, of which offers special tables, slides and jumps for both beginners and pros.

The ski area of Val d'Isère equally offers 150 km of piste, where many wide, easy pistes can be found on the Pissaillas glacier plateau. Because of this, the ski area boasts the "Famille Plus" seal of excellence, proving that the runs are especially designed for families and plenty of child care services can be found. At the same time, a few red pistes can also be found here along with challenging ski routes and more can be found on the Solaise, such as the valley run. At the Pointe du Montet (3.428 m), great snow can be found even from June to September.

For the start of the 2016/17 winter season, the new 10-person cable car, "Solaise“, made its debut as a replacement for the Solaise-Express. The new cable car allows for a transport capacity increase of 40 percent and drastically reduces waiting times. Not only that, there's also seated heats and Wi-Fi available in the cable car as well! The ski area also has a great infrastructure in part thanks to the free Wi-Fi hotpots to be found at several mountain and valley stations.

The areas of Tignes and Val d'Isère are ideally connected with each other and therefore promise pure piste pleasure!

Après ski Tignes

While skiing is naturally the most important thing in Tignes, the après ski scene comes in at a close second! A multitude of bars, cosy restaurants and several clubs take centre stage in Tignes. A real hot-spot is Grizzly's Bar with an arctic atmosphere.

For those who like to remain active, there is a natural ice rink available in Le Lac. Afterwards you can go and relax in the pool of the "Le Lagon". Both attractions can be accessed for free with minimum a 2-day lift pass. Those looking for something a bit more daring can go ice diving in the lake at Tignes! A special highlight has just opened: "Tignespace" is modern indoor sports and conference centre with countless activities. Tennis courts, Basketball, Volleyball, Handball, Badminton, Hockey and Squash courts, as well as a climbing wall and athletics area - all this can be found here on 3,500 m² leaving hardly any wishes unfulfilled.

Snowpark: Val d'Isere Snowpark, Gliss'Park, Gletscher Park, Swatch Snowpark, Acticross Tignes

With the "Tignes - Val d´Isère" lift pass, you gain access to an extensive sporting programme. Start off with the "Val d'Isère Snowpark," of which lies at an altitude of 2,300 m between Val d'Isère and Tignes, near the "Montblanc" chair lift on the Bellevarde. There, you'll find three diverse lines: a green, red and black line, all of which will satisfy your needs with rails, kickers and boxes. Moreover, a boardercross trail awaits you at the Borsat lift in Val d'Isère with a fun slope element. The "Acticross" contains varying obstacles such as the "Super Tunnel" and a wave run. For those who've worked up a real appetite after a long day on the snow can look forward to a mouthwatering barbecue meal at the "Chill Chalet."

The next stop is the Tignes ski area, which can be accessed and used with your lift pass. Here you'll find three different snow parks: the large "DC Park" at an altitude between 2,400 m – 2,600 m, the smaller "Gliss Park" found directly in the resort and the Tignes "Glacier Snowpark." In the DC Park, you'll find a total of 16 kickers and the most various rails with different levels of difficulty that invite every winter sports fan to show off their skills. Regardless of whether it's your hobby or your profession, there will certainly be enough obstacles and kickers for everyone to enjoy. A special highlight is the "Ski Movie" feature, where you can record your jump onto the Big Airbag, for example, and then watch and analyse how high you flew on the big screen in the "Cool Zone."

The smaller Gliss Park in the resort of Tignes offers just as many opportunities to practice, for both beginners and experts. Varying parcours, like boardercross, an obstacle course and a parallel slalom can all be taken on. To show this park is nothing to sneeze at, you'll also find an airbag. Furthermore, between January and April, a monster half pipe is shaped and becomes the venue for different international contests.

On the "Grande Motte" glacier, you can expect to find the Tignes Glacier Snowpark at an altitude of 3,456 m where several kickers, rails, boxes and woops await you along with an impressive view and the capability to let all levels of winter sports fans have a great time. This park in particular receives many boarding fans of all sorts in the summer as well, so you can be sure to keep up your technique even during the off-season. Furthermore, the lines are regularly changed, so that a you will continue to find new, stimulating runs to try and you'll be guaranteed to stay entertained.
