Austria's most southern federal state is known well by skiers and boarders: ski areas, such as the impressive terrain at the Grossglockner with the resort Heiligenblut, the resort with thermal baths and wonderful pistes Bad Kleinkirchheim and also the Skiarena Nassfeld-Hermagor are ranked high. Both the extension and the diversity of the pistes can surely compete with the popular regions in the Salzburger Land or even in Tyrol. Thanks to the Tauern motorway it is easily accessible. Winter sports enthusiasts can profit from cross-border skiing in the Nock Mountains: the "TopSkiPass Kärtnen & Osttirol" provides 917 km of piste (incl. ski routes) in 31 ski areas, of which 24 are located in Carinthia and 7 in Eastern Tyrol. An unbelievable selection.
