Ski holidays Afritz am See – Ski holiday in the heart of Carinthia!
Afritz am See
In the quiet Gegend valley in Upper Carinthia, in the midlle of the picturesque Nockberge, lies Afritz am See. Exceedingly tranquil, the hilly landscape huddles along the valley between Millstätter and Ossiach Lake. Here, you can take your holiday into an authentically ideal landscape and stay door to door with Matthias Mayer, the Austrian ski racer and Olympic champion of 2014 in Sochi. Moreover, the resort is ideally situated for winter sports fans. The next ski area in Bad Kleinkirchheim is only a few kilometres away, and in winter, Afritz Lake becomes a natural ice rink, where skating, hockey, and ice surfing invite you to lace up those skates. Expeditions to Millstätter Lake, or to the east-lying, 50 km distant Klagenfurt am Wörthersee offers a welcoming change to the relaxing ambience of Afritz.Nock Mountains
The national park Nock Mountains lies in Carinthia, in the south of Austria. Over an area of 184 km² you will find a wonderful mixture of the oldest mountain formation in Europe, as well as breathtaking nature and a wonderful fauna. Tradition still plays an important role in the region, however also modern influence is well considered. Winter sports fans will not only find a promising selection of spa offers but also an extensive sports region at altitudes between 1,078 m and 2,055 m. Besides a dense network of lift systems, cross-country tracks and piste, après ski is also an activity to enjoy whilst staying here. Cross-country skiers will also be well entertained as there are numerous lovely trails with wonderful panoramic mountain views to enjoy.Travel Afritz am See
