Lavant Valley
In the east of Carinthia flows the Lavant river, which gives the extensive Lavant Valley its name. The valley is considered one of the most appealing and sunny areas in the south of Austria and lives up to its nickname "Paradise of Carinthia". The idyllic municipalities of Wolfsberg, Sankt Andrä and Bad Sankt Leonhard form the main municipalities along the valley with about 60,000 local inhabitants. Embedded in between the two local mountains Koralpe and Saualpe the lower Lavant Valley offers various recreational activities. In winter you can look forward to a diverse sports holiday in the ski areas Koralpe, Großer Speikkogel (the highest mountain of the region at 2,140 m), Klippitztörl, Weinebene and Hebalm.Travel Bad St. Leonhard
