Ski area Gerlitzen

High above Lake Ossiach, almost 53 varied kilometres of piste and 12 km of natural ski routes of various levels of difficulty await you in the Gerlitzen ski area. Whether you're a beginner or a pro, enjoy the descent on the sun-kissed, wide pistes of the snow-sure Gerlitzen! Powerful snowmaking facilities ensure reliability of snow and the highest piste quality in all directions from December to April.

This ski area in the heart of Carinthia is particularly popular with families with children thanks to its gentle and perfectly groomed slopes and wide pistes with convenient lifts, which is why it has been awarded the "welcome beginners" seal of quality. Little skiers will find the best conditions for practising around the middle station and mini winter sports enthusiasts are also well looked after in the children's and snow bear area. Beginners can also hone their turns in peace and quiet on the predominantly easy to intermediate slopes.

Advanced skiers will get their money's worth on the approx. 6 km descent to the valley to Klösterle, where they have to conquer almost 911 metres in altitude. Winter sports fans have a fantastic view of Lake Ossiach and the surrounding mountains on the 1 km long Wörthersee descent, which takes you down from the 1,911 m high Gerlitzen peak. An insider tip for ski cracks is the challenging Gegendtal descent with a length of 1.7 km. Freeriders and snowboarders can let off steam on natural slopes or deep snow runs.

Après ski Gerlitzen

After a day in the snow, the Gerlitzen ski area has numerous rustic huts with spacious sun terraces and a varied après ski programme. For example, enjoy the rustic atmosphere in the "Huaba Hitt'n" on the Klösterle descent II (no. 8) or party with other winter sports fans at the inviting outdoor bar of the Neugarten Almseehütte.

For those who want to turn night into day, neighbouring Villach (approx. 15 km) is a must. Here, party-goers are offered a varied selection of different nightlife and party options. Connoisseurs will love the Warmbad Villach thermal spa, where you can relax wonderfully after a day of sport! Or round off the evening with typical Carinthian specialities and a good glass of wine in one of the rustic inns.

The strength of Treffens, on the other hand, lies in its sporting leisure activities. Verditz is a popular destination for extensive snowshoe hiking, but also for tobogganing. Ice sports enthusiasts will find their favourite spot on the natural ice rink at Treffen Castle or on the curling rink in Verditz. Or take part in a guided hike and explore the beautiful surroundings.

Snowpark Gerlitzen: Snowpark

Unfortunately, there is no snowpark in the Gerlitzen ski area. However, the wave run and the speed check provide fun and action. The wave run is located on the Moser downhill run and offers steep curves and clapping figures. You can challenge each other at the speed check. Who is the fastest and breaks the speed record?
