Ski holidays Embach - the family-friendly farm village!
Embach
On the way to Raurisertal, situated between Winkl and Heuberg, quaint Embach is located. The resort is known as the largest farm village in the state of Salzburg, and has the appropriate setting: old farmsteads, small alleys and the authentic life in harmony with nature give the village its quaint charm. Craftsmanship such as bread baking, pottery and of course farming is carried out with heart and soul.The village is part of the municipality of Lend as is situated on an altitude of 1,013 m on an idyllic high plateau in the Hohe Tauern National Park, and this is an ideal surrounding for mountain sports and experience of nature. Winter sports fans will find a lift directly in resort as well as several attractive ski regions nearby. At Hörndl you cannot only fine pistes, but also snow show- and winter hiking trails, as well as a toboggan run. Embach also scores with further activities beside the piste , such as a curling pitch or a weekly leisure time programme, with fun and games for kids.
Pongau
The district of St. Johann im Pongau boarders the states of Carinthia, Steiermark, and Upper Austria, and the impressive Salzachtal valley runs right through it. Surrounded by the mountains Hochkönig (2,941 m) and the Hohe Tauer (3,798 m), the region never fails to excite with at atmosphere at once romantic and rustic as well as sporty and thrilling; the resorts are comfy and picturesque and the ski area is phenomenal. Finally, the excellent reputation of St. Johann makes one of the most important access points into the enormous ski world ''Ski Amadé.'' A particular highlight of the massive mountain landscape is the legendary ''Liechtensteinklamm'' which lends itself to the particularly unique mountain scenery found here. Equally or more worth a visit is the National Park Hohe Tauern, spreading past the region in the south - one of the most beautiful natural settings in Europe.
