Cross-country Galtür

Information on cross-country skiing

74.5 km Cross-country trails (in km):

The Paznaun Valley is not only known for its excellent range of slopes. The region around Ischgl and Galtür is also an insider tip for cross-country skiers. thanks to the nearly 74.5 km of groomed cross-country trails for lovers of the Nordic discipline.

The east trail, which circles Galtür, is 6.7 km long, the west trail from Galtür to the valley station of the mountain railways in Wirl is 6.5 km long. The almost 6 km long route to Ischgl is also perfect for enjoyable cross-country skiing: it runs along the Trisanna River and climbs only slightly with an altitude difference of 110 metres.

The tracks in the Jams valley are especially attractive, leading past the Silvretta lake to the Biel Caves. However you will need good stamina: one way is only upwards, the other leads you back down again. A special highlight is the 18 km long high-altitude track to the Silvretta lake at 2,040 m.

Cross-country skiers who want to remain active in the evenings can do so on the approx. 2 km long, illuminated night trail between Galtür and Wirl. Until 22:00 the track is open for those who love skiing under a starry sky. Be it classic style or skating - cross-country skiers will find all that they are looking for.

The Galtür cross-country trail network is awarded with a seal of quality.
