Ski area Silvretta Montafon
Thanks to the varied distribution of blue, red and black pistes, there is great selection for every skill level: beginners have several practice lifts at their disposal, including at the Gaschruns valley station, and the easy slopes from Kapell to Grasjoch are also recommended. The 1.6 km long "Piste 44", on the other hand, is reserved for professionals.
A highlight for freestylers is the Snowpark Montafon. Some time ago the previously 780 m long funpark Nova Park was relocated to Grasjoch and extended significantly.
The ski area Silvretta Montafon is especially suited for freeriders and pros. Action-lovers should not miss the five steepest pistes - the Black Scorpions - which go by the motto "Care for some cold sweat?" and are surely not for riders with weak nerves!
There is also a speed measuring track and a public race track with timekeeping for you to record your personal best performances.
With the "Montafon Brandnertal WildPass" lift pass upgrade, you have access to 286 km of pistes (including 62 km of ski routes) and a wide range of pistes for every level of skier (see ski region).
Après ski Gaschurn
Furthermore, throughout the ski area there are numerous après ski facilities - from small ski huts, right up to massive restaurants. You will benefit from an extensive offer of food here: be it simple local dishes or exquisite culinary experiences. At the end of the day, you can stow away your skis and enjoy the full range of après ski at the valley stations of the Silvretta Nova with huts, umbrella bars and ski pubs.
Away from the pistes there are various toboggan runs in the Montafon - including the 5.5 km long (and therefore longest in Vorarlberg) night toboggan run. At the Garfrescha lift you can participate in night tobogganing every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, which is also already included in the lift pass! You can also enjoy a hearty mountain meal in the T3 Alpenhotel Garfrescha let the evening come to an end in a rustic atmosphere (toboggan hire and evening meal not included). If you prefer ice-skating, you can head to the natural ice rink in Partenen. And climbers will find entertainment even in winter: on the Winterklettersteig moutain. For all of those who have always dreamt about the ultimate freedom of taking flight, there's also the chance to paraglide with one of the tandem flight schools in the resort and gain a breathtaking view of the countryside and an unforgettable experience.
Snowpark: Montafon Gaschurn
The Montafon is one of the largest ski regions in Vorarlberg and is therefore the perfect holiday destination for all ambitious skiers. Not only will you find numerous freeride possibilites but also a snowpark that offers all levels of experts the chance to go wild. The Montafon Snowpark, next to the Freda Bahn lift, was opened in 2012 and impresses with its brand new obstacles and exciting setup. A total of 40 various obstacles allow for a large range of moves and jumps, all of which are maintained and shaped daily by the responsible Snowpark Team.
Various sizes of kickers, rails, jibs, boxes, hips and wall rides as well as Austria's first freeride cross on the Freda Bahn, a kind of fun slope with a wide variety of obstacles, leave no wish unfulfilled and invite you to give free rein to your creativity. A chill-out area also offers space to relax and chat to good music after a busy day.
Frequent competitions and events are also great for interested spectators who are looking for a good show.
