Ski area Zillertal Arena

With the "Zillertaler Superskipass" you can choose from 542 kilometres of piste (incl. ski routes and snow parks) in Hochfügen, at Spieljoch, in the Hochzillertal, the Zillertal Arena (Zell, Gerlos, Königsleiten, Wald, Krimml and Gerlosstein), at the Penken, at the Ahorn, at the Horberg, in the "Ski and Gletscherwelt Zillertal 3000" (Finkenberg, Eggalm, Rastkogl, Hintertux Glacier) and at the Wildkogel-Arena at Bramberg. The ski areas are all excellently linked to one another by a free train and bus shuttle.

The Zillertal Arena is the versatile, family-friendly and largest ski area in the Zillertal. With 150 kilometres of pistes stretching from Zell am Ziller via Gerlos and Königsleiten to Hochkrimml and 52 modern lifts, it offers fun in the snow up to an altitude of 2,500 metres. From there, you can choose between a wide variety of slopes. One of the most difficult pistes is the 2.5 km long "Run No. 36" in Krummbachtal with a difference in altitude of 613 metres. The longest descent is the 9 km long valley run, which leads from "Stoanmandl" via "Ebenfeld" to the "Isskogl" valley station. You can even get back to the village on a total of 4 downhill runs.

Look forward to 14 free offers such as Skimovie, Speed Check and Photopoints as well as 6 toboggan runs and 200 km of cross-country ski trails. The 34 huts & mountain restaurants invite you to stop for a bite to eat, while 11 ski & snowboard schools provide the first turns on the slopes. Almost 100% snow reliability guarantees perfect winter fun!

A highlight whilst in the Ziller Valley is a trip to the Hintertux Glacier. Due to its size and demanding pistes, it truly is one of the best glaciers in the Alps!

Après ski Gerlos

After a successful day on the sunny slopes, enjoy some hearty après-ski - that's part of the daily programme in the Zillertal Arena! Numerous huts and bars in Gerlos, such as "Little London", "Haberl's Skibar" and the "Garage", offer après-ski until late into the night. In the Zell ski area, the atmosphere starts early, e.g. at the "Rosenalm" or "Kreuzwiesenalm". At the valley station, head to the "Saustad'l", the "Jogg'l Kessl", the "Krocha Alm" or the "Tuxer Pfiff-Bar". The "Krimmler Kuhstall" is also a great place to party. The "Schatzi Alm Bar" and the "Castello Schirmbar" in Königsleiten offer quieter après-ski options.

The longest toboggan run in the Zillertal is a sporty option. After the comfortable ascent with the Gerlossteinbahn cable car, the tobogganing fun starts at an altitude of 1,650 metres. The run is 7 kilometres long and floodlit until 1:00 - so you can enjoy a cosy stop at one of the rustic inns along the way. Königsleiten's toboggan run also offers a speedy descent for young and old after a day on the piste. The somewhat different snow fun in the Gerlosstein ski area is called "snowtubing". On specially prepared tracks, all winter fans can try out this tyre fun free of charge and as often as they like.

If you are looking for a little more sporting adventure, you can try your hand at ice climbing at the Untersulzbach Falls. The national park area is also known worldwide as a top address for ski tourers and freeriders. An excursion to the frozen Krimml waterfalls, whether alone or on a guided torch-lit hike, or a horse-drawn carriage ride through the snow-covered winter landscape will make the hearts of romantics beat faster.

Alternatively, we recommend a hike up the Gerlosstein adventure mountain. On the Gerlosstein alpine promenade, you can learn lots of interesting facts about Zillertal history and culture at lovingly designed stations, even in winter. The starting point of the approx. 1-hour hike is the mountain station of the Gerlosstein cable car at 1,700 metres above sea level. The destination is the Zillertaler Almtribüne with a fantastic view of the Zillertal mountains. You can also experience action and fun on the "Arena Coaster", the first Alpine rollercoaster in the Zillertal! Sports enthusiasts can also let off steam on the artificial ice rink, in the indoor tennis centre or on the bowling alley. An unforgettable experience for every holidaymaker is a ride on a horse-drawn sleigh through the snow-covered winter landscape or a guided snowshoe hike with intensive enjoyment of nature.

Snowpark: Snowpark Gerlos

In the Zillertal Arena, there are plenty of opportunities to freestyle and let off steam creatively. As usual, the 3 parks in the arena invite you to "shred" this winter too: First and foremost the Gerlos Snowpark, a hotspot for park pros at the Vorkogel lift on an area of 30,000 m². There is just the right offer for beginners and pros alike. Beginners can improve their skills and newly learnt tricks on the beginner line on an easy and compact set-up with boxes and jumps.

The Action Park Kreuzwiese in Zell am Ziller with Fun Runs and Beginner Line for the whole family and the Funpark Hochkrimml as an ideal introduction for young freestylers. TIP: Every Tuesday from 11.000:00 the "Shredschool" stops off at the Action Park Kreuzwiese and offers free freestyle workshops for all daredevils.
