Ski area Großglockner-Heiligenblut

With the "Großglockner" lift pass, you have around 55 km of piste with guaranteed snow and 11 lift systems between 1,301 and 2,902 metres above sea level at your disposal. Here, at the foot of Austria's highest mountain (3,798 m) against a dreamlike backdrop, the predominantly intermediate slopes inspire skiers and snowboarders alike.

The wide slopes of the Sonnenalm and Fleissalm are ideal for your first turns in the snow. The steep descent from Schareck to Fallbichl is also a challenge for experts, as is the ski route from Schareck to Fleissalm. A unique experience is the ride from the Roßbach middle station to the Fleissalm with the tunnel railway, which is the only railway in the world to run through a former water pipe tunnel and transports almost 500 people per hour on this route.

The pistes, most of which are well above the tree line, also give off-piste skiers the opportunity to venture out into the deep powder snow right next to the piste. The Freeride Arena on the Großglockner leaves nothing to be desired. Between the Gjaidtroghöhe at 2,989 metres and the mountain village of Heiligenblut, a wide variety of runs for skiers and snowboarders are waiting to be discovered. You can really let off steam on over 15 km² of freeride terrain. The Hohe Tauern National Park is particularly suitable for ski tours. It is one of the largest ski touring areas in the Eastern Alps. There is even a national park ski touring bus.

The rustic huts in the ski area invite you to enjoy typical delicacies in front of a unique mountain panorama. Families with children and those seeking peace and quiet are in good hands here.

Après ski Großglockner-Heiligenblut

The leisure options in Heiligenblut guarantee that you won't get bored away from the pistes either. After a refreshment stop in one of the cosy huts or bars such as the "Laterndl", the "Mühle" or - particularly recommended - the "Skistadl" with its infamous home-distilled schnapps.

There are also plenty of opportunities for sporting activities. Whether Bavarian curling or snowshoeing, in the indoor pool or in the sports centre of the Hotel Post - everyone will find the right activity here. A visit to the floodlit 1.1 km long natural toboggan run "Ponwald" is particularly recommended. If you like thrills, you should definitely try ice climbing on the frozen waterfall! Numerous concerts and events round off the supporting programme in Heiligenblut.
