Ski area Hinterstoder/Wurzeralm

With the lift pass "Hinterstoder/Wurzeralm" you will gain access to 62 km of pistes in both of the enticing ski areas of the Pyhrn-Priel region.

The local ski area of Hinterstoder is called "Hinterstoder Höss" and located at the mountain Hutterer Höss (1,858 m). Here you will find 40 km of well-prepared pistes and 14 lifts that serve all needs. Over 260 snow-making facilities ensure good snow conditions and cover up to 90% of the pistes. A 6-person gondola takes you from the valley at Hinterstoder to the sunny plateau "Hutterer Böden", which is situated at an altitude of approx. 1,300 m. With the 6-person Höss-Express you can go up to mainly medium difficulty panorama runs. The highest point of the ski area lies at the Schafkogel (2,000 m). Up here you will only find blue pistes, further down also some red ones. The "Sunny's Kidspark" is an ideal practice area for ski rookies and toddlers are cared for at the "Zwergennest" located near the middle station. One of the highlights is the "Hannes-Trinkl" World Cup run, which leads all the way down to the valley. In February 2016 the FIS Ski World Cup for men in the disciplines Super-G and Giant Slalom was held on the Trinkl piste. The speed measurement run and a SnowTrail adventure run offer a special skiing experience. Snowboarders can go wild in the fun park and freeriders will also find a challenging ski route.

The ski area at the Wurzeralm offers further 22 km of pistes and seven lifts. Here the fastest funicular of Europe will take you up the mountain station at 1,400 m in only seven minutes. The highest point of the ski area is the Frauenkar at 1,870 m. The mountain station offers a great view of the surrounding mountain range and challenging red pistes. Further down you will mainly find blue pistes. The Wurzeralm with its easy to medium difficulty pistes, sufficient snow-making facilities, two valley runs, as well as a "Sunny's Kidspark" for the young ones offers everything the skiers heart desires.

Après ski Hinterstoder

The "Höss-Salettl" or the rustic "Lögerhütte" in the ski area Hinterstoder invite you to a cosy break during your skiing day. Should you look for some more après ski action, check out the "Pub Siglu" close to the valley station.

Apart from that, the focus lies on a relaxing winter experience and the idyllic nature surrounding the Hinterstoder. If you would like to let off some steam you have three options: seven romantic hiking trails run through the Stoder Valley - from the short trail around the village to the four-hour hike to the "Hirschmauer" at an altitude of 1,100 m. The Pyhrn-Priel region can also be experienced in a completely new way with snow shoe hikes. A real highlight for families with children is the illuminated natural toboggan run in Hinterstoder. The 1.2 km run begins at approx. 800 m at the Landhotel Gressenbauer, which is also a great location for a break. The start of the run can either be reached by foot or the toboggan taxi.

In the evening you will find several guesthouses and restaurants that serve tasty and rich specialities from the regional cuisine: a great conclusion of a fulfilling day in Hinterstoder.

Snowpark: Snowpark Höss Hinterstoder

One of the most popular fun parks of Upper Austria is located in the centre of the ski area Hinterstoder: the Snowpark Höss. It is located at the Schullifthang right next to the speed run and can be reached via the Hirschkogel lift or the local tow lift. The fun park offers great shredding fun for beginners and advanced freestylers. Several rails, boxes and a double kicker line are available. There is enough space for beginners to practice their first jumps or for pros to show their skills and do some awesome duo jumps.
