Ski area Hochzillertal-Hochfügen
With the "Zillertaler Superskipass" you can choose from 542 kilometres of piste in the Zillertal Arena, by the Mayrhofen lifts, in the Ski and Gletscherwelt Zillertal 3000, the ski area Hochzillertal – Hochfügen – Spieljoch, and in the Wildkogel-Arena at Bramberg. The ski areas are all excellently linked to one another by a free train and shuttle bus service. Since a few years, the Zillertal Arena offers free-of-charge Wi-Fi in all of its ski areas!
Access to the ski hotspot Hochfügen-Hochzillertal is possible directly from Hochfügen. Its perfect location in a high-alpine valley guarantees snow coverage until the end of April. Every winter sports fan is sure to find a favourite piste here. In the lower part of the ski area, located at the Lamark tow lifts, soft, blue runs are ideal for beginners and ski school groups. The family-friendly ski area is ideally suited for children, thanks to its various children's areas with covered conveyor belts, fun figures and obstacles.
If you prefer to venture higher up, the 8-person chair lift Pfaffenbühel, or the 8-person jet gondola takes you up to 2,100 m altitude where there is good selection of blue, red and black pistes to try out. The tow lift Pfaffenbühel II offers access to a challenging mogul piste, which is ideally only tackled by experienced riders, but there is also a long, blue piste (No. 13) that runs from the jet right back down into the valley. At the end of the piste you jump off your skis and cross the road, only to explore more Hochfügen slopes on the other valley side. The chair lift Holzalm takes you up to a wide, red run which is nice and sunny in the afternoons. Another piste to be found there is No. 2 which is actually a SkiMovie run, where you can have yourself filmed whilst you speed down the slope. At the end you can download your film and times to take back home. This side of the valley is also home to the highest mountain peak of the ski area, which is the mountain station Zillertal Shuttle, at 2,360 m altitude. From there you can descend a sporty, black run (Obitraudi) which offers a significant decline and ends in the valley.
Alternatively there are many more pistes to explore, as the Zillertal Shuttel and the Wedelexpress are also the connection between Hochfügen, Hochzillertal and Spieljoch where you can find further 110 km of piste (incl. ski routes), among them an illuminated valley descent and 43 lifts to enjoy. Hochfügen is further a great ski area for freeriders, as there are many open terrain routes and various freeride checkpoints. Beginners will find a starter-freeride-area at the Holzalm, where a gentle slope and professional tuition provide perfect conditions to practice deep powder snow riding. The "Bretterpark" snow park in the ski area Hochzillertal-Kaltenbach is the perfect place to go for all freestylers, even offering a half-pipe.
On the last weekend in March, the traditional Hochfügen rope race and children's rope race takes place, where three skiers tie themselves together with a climbing rope and race together over a race course. A varied supporting programme ensures entertainment and a good atmosphere for all ages.
The new mountain station of the Wimbachexpress houses the Italian restaurant Albergo and the higher altitude creates more runs. As a foretaste of the peak-to-peak ski area connection from Hochzillertal-Hochfügen to Spieljoch, an hourly ski bus connection has been set up between the Spieljoch valley station in Fügen and Kaltenbach in Hochzillertal.
In the ski area Hochfügen-Hochzillertal, the valley run to Kaltenbach is also used as a night ski piste. Once per week, the 5 km "Stephan-Eberharter-Goldpiste" is illuminated. The red piste is equipped with floodlight from the middle station to the Hochzillertal mountain railway valley station, and can be covered with artificial snow. The extended operating times are valid from January to March. After night-time skiing fun, the free ski bus takes you back to Hochfügen.

Après ski Hochfügen
Although Hochfügen is not all that large, it has a diverse selection of apres ski to choose from. Be it a romantic ski gut, lively umbrella bar, or a cosy guest house - apres ski wishes are not left unfulfilled here. The cosy atmosphere, e.g. in the Holzalm or in the Montana Alm can be enjoyed already on you piste breaks. More luxurious flair can be found in the Kristal or Wedel huts in the ski area. There you can benefit from star-class cuisine. Stylish dining with panorama views, sun decks with lambskin-covered loungers, relaxation with classical or Jazz music and excellent food are standard here.
Those looking for some party fun will find apres ski to their liking in the Gogola-Alm. Later in the evening you can venture on to Fügen's various discos, where the party extends late into the night. If you can part from your skis even after dark, there is night skiing on an illuminated piste. Winter hikes, tobogganing, and a cosy horse-drawn sleigh ride for relaxation seekers round off the totality of the offer.

Snowpark: Snowpark Betterpark Hochfügen
The "Betterpark" Hochzilltertal is located in close proximity to the "Schnee Express" 8-person chairlift at an altitude between 2,050 - 2,120 m in the ski area Hochzillertal-Hochfügen.
The park-own lift takes you comfortably and directly to the top, so that you can move over to the next ride. Three lines with different levels of difficulty can be found in the park, where beginners, intermediates and pros can test their talent on kickers and other obstacles. An additional highlight is the jib line at the foot of the park, where there various boxes and rails to use.
The chill area with container, sun bed and the perfect sound system invites you after a long freestyle day or when taking a break. Apart from the "Betterpark" fun and freestyle fans will find much more snow parks to let off steam in the entire Zillertal, e.g. in Mayrhofen, Gerlos or at the Hintertux glacier.
