Ski area Nassfeld - Pressegger See

In Kötschach-Mauthen, winter sports fans have the privilege to choose: either remain in the manageable, but entertaining local area, which is ideal for families and beginners, or venture to the Carinthian top area at Nassfeld, which you can easily get to via the free ski bus, in a 25 minute ride.

The ski bus takes you directly to the valley station of the Millennium Express at Nassfeld. From here you have free access to 110 km of piste and 30 lifts, up to 2,002 m altitude. The Millennium Express only needs a few minutes to take you up to the ski terrain on the Madritsche (1,919 m), the key point within the whole area. Here, you will find beginner pistes and racing tracks, basically everything a winter sports fan may wish for.

Beginners are best catered for at the practice area at Sonnleitn, or round the Sonnenalpe and Tressdorfer Alm. There is also a mini club for the little ones to take part in, "Bobo's Miniclub". More experienced riders can test themselves in the speed track at the Troghöhe, or on the mogul piste at Rastl. The longest pistes, at the same time, is the only valley run, and takes you over 7.6 km right into the valley. This is where freestylers will find a snow park at the Watschiger Alm lift.

Furthermore, the Nassfeld ski resort has already invested heavily in energy-efficient technology in recent years. The cable cars and lifts, as well as the up to 460 snowmaking systems with state-of-the-art technology, are powered by electricity from 100% renewable energy sources. In addition, innovative technologies, such as GPS snow depth measurement, enable the most energy-efficient preparation of the pistes and intelligent snow management.

A chair lift, two T-bar lifts and a practice lift are also available directly in Kötschach-Mauthen. From the parking lot you can access the secure children's area, where you will find the little ones having fun on wave rides and practice runs. A detour is worth it - whether on foot or on skis.
