Ski area Almenwelt Lofer
The ski area in the heart of the Salzburger Saalachtal stretches from 640 - 1,670 m and offers primarily easy to intermediate runs on its wide, flat mountain pastures.
The modern 8-persons chair lift especially makes families happy, as the child proof lift with automatically closable safety belts even brings the smallest skier safely to the peak. Fresh blue runs are very suitable for the first swings.
Thanks to the numerous snow-making facilities in the lower areas, the 9-kilometre-long valley run is open almost all season long and offers pure skiing pleasure. If you are looking for a challenge, head to the Hochwena alpine piste: The black run stretches across the steep northern slopes of the Grubhörndl (1,747 m).
The pleasantly manageable family ski area offers beginners and young skiers some lovely practice slopes at the valley and mountain stations of the cable car. The good children's facilities make for a wonderful skiing holiday for the whole family!
The ski area "Unken-Heutal" with its 11 km of piste and 4 lifts is especially suitable for begginers and little skiers. The ski school in Unken not only offers snowboard-, freestyle-, ski- and children's ski lessons, but also snow-shoe hikes. The family-friendly ski area is both attractive and diverse.
If you are looking for even more fun on skis the "3 Länder Freizeit-Arena" is just the right place for you. Young and old can look forward to endless skiing fun on approx. 171 km of skis and 61 lifts in the ski areas Almwelt Lofer, St. Johann in Tyrol/Oberndorf, Erpfendorf, Pillersee/Buchensteinwand, Kirchdorf, Steinplatte Waidring, Winklmoosalm - Reit im WInkl as well as the Heutal Lifts Unken!
Après ski Lofer
Lofer is nothing to scoff at when it comes to sports either: whether you take a spin on the natural skating rink, dare to go on a speedy descent on one of the tobogganing runs, or savour the magnificent view of the sun-kissed plateau of the Loferer Alm from the branching winter hiking trail network (130 km) – boredom will definitely not set in here! An insider's tip is the tour through the Lamprechts Cave near St. Martin, the world's largest passable cave.
Snowpark: LOFI Funline Lofer
Even away from the classic slopes, Almenwelt Lofer offers great and varied activities especially for children. The LOFI Funline along the Family Express is a playground for the kids and ensures plenty of variety for all kids with wave runs, jumps or obstacles. The Witches' Funline on the new 8-seater chairlift SenderExpress also gives children fun and excitement. Witch figures are a constant companion on an adventurous ski descent through the forest and immerse young and old in a fairytale world.
