Ski holidays Mellau - snow paradise with charm!
Mellau
At the foot of the Kanisfluh (2,044 m), one of the most impressive peaks in Bregenzerwald, Mallau (700 m) offers tons of variety for winter sports fans. The cosy resort south of Lake Constance offers both snow-sure pistes promising unforgettable skiing, as well as countless activities such as snow blading, snow shoe hiking or tobogganing. With more than 20 km of track, cross-country fans also get their money's worth. Voralberg's first single-track lift was put to use in 1973 in Mellau and is still in operation. Here you can experience a piece of history! Numerous restaurants and inns are waiting to spoil you with delicious specialities! Numerous cheese specialities such as cheese soup, "käsmus", "käsknöpfle" or "käsespätzle" are also at the fore, of course, homemade and served by the local cheese publicans.Bregenzerwald
The Bregenzerwald is located between Lake Constance and the Arlberg in the far west of Austria. The northern part of the region is hilly, towards the south the valley becomes narrower and the mountains rise more steeply. The Bregenzerwald has been strongly influenced by its Swabian and Swiss neighbours and old traditions are still upheld today. A good example of this is the "Cheese Route", an association of farmers, innkeepers, craftsmen and commercial enterprises dedicated to traditional cheese production. So don't miss out on trying the "Bregenzerwald mountain cheese". The region is also renowned for its guaranteed snow: Enjoy over 506 kilometres of pistes and the beautiful panorama of the Bregenzerwald!Travel Mellau
