With the modern Acherkogel lift you can reach the mountain station at 2,200 m altitude within only 8 minutes. Freshly prepared pistes weave through lovely winter forests of the Hochoetz ski area (36 km of piste) and ensure unforgettable holiday impressions. With mainly blue and red runs on offer as well as 15 cable cars and lifts, the ski area presents itself well-manageable and therefore especially family-friendly. Wonderful valley runs open up from the Hochoetz middle station (the longest being 2,8 km) or from the Brunnerkopf right down to the Ochsengarten, located in a side valley. Well appreciated is also the family route "Kühtaile".
The youngest skiers can enjoy themselves in the Kids Land in Hochoetz. During the "Happy Family Weeks" (07/12-21/12/2024, 11/01-25/01/2025 and 22/03-05/04/2025), a free 5 day ski course or 5 days of child-care in the Hochoetz ski kindergarten is offered for all children born in 2019 or later (ID required, children need to be toilet-trained!) who are on a holiday of 7 nights or longer. More information is available in the resort.
The ski area Oetz/Hochoetz was voted the best family and children's ski area in 2014. The area's child friendliness, the many childcare services for children from 2 years in kindergartens and the 3 children's parks, as well as the "Happy Family Weeks" were especially underlined.
Those who still cannot get enough can look forward to approx. 356 km of perfectly prepared pistes an 90 modern lift systems in the entire Oetz valley with the "Ötztaler Superskipass" (see ski region).
