Ski area Hochoetz-Kühtai ski region
The "Hochoetz-Kühtai ski region" lift pass gives you access to the two ski areas of Hochoetz and Kühtai with approx. 86 kilometres of piste and two floodlit pistes, which are floodlit every week. The areas are well connected by a ski bus. The Hochoetz ski area (1,410 - 2,272 m) rises above the village of Oetz, at the entrance to the valley of the same name. The modern Acherkogelbahn cable car takes you to the mountain station at 2,200 m in just 8 minutes.
Freshly groomed pistes wind their way through beautiful winter forests and ensure unforgettable holiday experiences. With predominantly blue and red pistes, the Hochoetz-Kühtai ski area with its 27 cable cars and lifts is clearly laid out and particularly family-friendly. Great descents to the valley open up from Hochoetz to the middle station (a whole 5 km!) or from Brunnenkopf to Ochsengarten, which is located in a side valley. Thanks to state-of-the-art snow-making facilities, absolute reliability of snow and skiing fun is guaranteed throughout the ski area.
Little winter sports enthusiasts can let off steam in the Kinderland in Hochoetz. During the "Happy Family Weeks" (07/12 - 21/12/2024, 11/01 - 25/01/2025 and 22/03 - 05/04/2025), all children born in 2019 and younger (ID required, children must have bladder control) staying 7 days or longer receive free 5-day ski lessons or 5-day childcare at the Hochoetz ski kindergarten. If that's not enough, the Ötztal Superskipass offers approx. 360 km of perfectly groomed pistes and 91 state-of-the-art lift systems in the entire Ötztal (see ski region).

Night skiing Hochoetz-Kühtai ski region
There are numerous ski areas in Austria where some lifts are open beyond normal operating hours for night skiing. There are also floodlit pistes in the Hochoetz-Kühtai ski region. In the Kühtai ski area, an approx. 3 km long piste on the Hochalterbahn lift is open for night skiing. In the Oetz ski area, the Balbach Wiesenlift is open on Thursdays. If you want to fortify yourself during or after the night skiing fun, you can do so in the surrounding huts and restaurants.Après ski Hochoetz-Kühtai ski region
The Hochoetz-Kühtai ski region's cosy and rustic ski huts, as well as umbrella bars and guesthouses with adjoining pubs, are particularly inviting for quieter après ski. For party lovers, we recommend a trip to the nearby towns of Längenfeld and Sölden. Après ski bars, discos and many other options await here.
Families can enjoy the romantic winter evenings on a walk along one of the 20 winter hiking trails. In Oetz-Piburg, the toboggan run provides fun for young and old and you can make your tracks in the ice on Lake Piburger See! If you're in the mood for relaxation, a trip to Längenfeld is a good idea. The Aqua Dome with its thermal baths, sauna and wellness centre is a real treat.

Snowpark Hochoetz-Kühtai ski region: FreeStyle-Area Kühtai & WIDI Fun Park Hochoetz
Your lift pass gives you access to two great fun parks. The FreeStyle area has been relocated to the WiesBerg cable car and offers plenty of variety with a large number of obstacles. This absolute paradise of an area is freshly shaped every day, guaranteeing plenty of variety and safe jumps. There is also a SnowCross at the Alpenrosen lift. Here, skiers and snowboarders can compete in exciting races.
The WIDI Fun Park Hochoetz in the Balbachtal valley offers additional fun with small kickers, a wave track and fun boxes. Perfect for your first tricks!
