Ski holidays Riefensberg – Winter holidays in untouched nature

Riefensberg

The small village of Riefensberg is located approx. 30 km west of Bregenz and is only approx. two km away from the border of Germany. The tranquil village is located in the district of Bregenz in the Austrian province of Vorarlberg. Here, 1,086 inhabitants are living at an altitude of 781 m.

In addition to recommendable ski areas, guests can expect beautiful views, as well as dreamlike forest areas in the region, which invite to extensive walks and snow hikes. The village takes part in the German-Austrian joint project "Nature Park Nagelfluhkette", in which a multitude of different habitats can be found on a total of 420 km². Nature enthusiasts can look forward to exciting and varied hikes. In addition, culture lovers should not leave without having visited the Riefensberg parish church, which was built slightly elevated in the centre of the village.

In addition to the multifaceted nature and cultural offerings, winter sports enthusiasts will also find what they are looking for in the immediate vicinity of Riefensberg. The Hochhäderich ski area is only ten kilometres from the town centre and offers 10.5 kilometres of varied pistes, suitable for beginners as well as advanced skiers alike. The slightly smaller Hochlitten Riefensberg ski area is also only approx. 650 m from the village centre and offers fantastic downhill runs with a view of the idyllic village of Riefensberg.

Bregenzerwald

The Bregenzerwald is located between Lake Constance and the Arlberg in the far west of Austria. The northern part of the region is hilly, towards the south the valley becomes narrower and the mountains rise more steeply. The Bregenzerwald has been strongly influenced by its Swabian and Swiss neighbours and old traditions are still upheld today. A good example of this is the "Cheese Route", an association of farmers, innkeepers, craftsmen and commercial enterprises dedicated to traditional cheese production. So don't miss out on trying the "Bregenzerwald mountain cheese". The region is also renowned for its guaranteed snow: Enjoy over 506 kilometres of pistes and the beautiful panorama of the Bregenzerwald!
