St. Martin am Tennengebirge is a village within a community with the same name in the Austrian St. Johann im Pongau. The small village has about 1.700 inhabitants and is located at an altitude of approx. 950 m in the Fritztal valley between the southern foot of the Tennengebirge and the Gerzberg, which is part of the Dachstein massif. The community of St. Martin am Tennengebirge is very popular and was even elected the sixth most beautiful community by the citizens of Austria. The surrounding nature has a very special charm. The picturesque landscape, characterised by the view of the majestic Dachstein massif, makes the hearts of nature lovers beat faster. Walks and hikes through the white splendour can be taken here excellently. However, the leisure activities offer much more. Tobogganing, snowtubing, a visit to the landmarked parish church - here you can find something for everyone. St. Martin am Tennengebirge is very popular with winter sports enthusiasts. In addition to the multifaceted cross-country skiing offer, skiers and snowboarders can also enjoy the Dachstein West ski area, which is only a few minutes drive from the village.Dachstein West
The Dachstein West region is located in the border region of Upper Austria and the Salzburger Land and is a very popular holiday area for many skiing fans. A gorgeous panorama and diverse, comprehensive winter sports and après ski options attract the region's visitors every year anew.
