Ski holidays Telfes – Tranquil village in the Stubai Valley
Telfes
In the front of the Stubai Valley, at an altitude of almost 1,000 metres, you can find the village of Telfes. The name 'Telfes' is derived from the term 'tellevo', which means 'fertile soil' and was likely the reason for the area being settled as early as the Early Bronze Age.Telfes is considered the sunniest village in the Stubai Valley! With around 1,500 residents, Telfes is rather peaceful, but has perfect connections to the popular nearby hiking and ski area, Schlick 2000, as well as the Stubai Glacier. Even Tyrol's regional capital, Innsbruck, is only a stone's throw away at 18 kilometres. Among other things, the appearance of the town is characterised by several old farmhouses, on the facades of which depictions of blacksmithing and ironmaking can still be seen – the source of income for residents several centuries ago.
Stubai Valley
A holiday in the Stubaital (Stubai Valley) means pure snow security and fun. Stubai Valley counts among the most lovely highland valleys in Tyrol, which is modern yet down-to-earth. As the largest glacier region in Austria, it offers absolute snow security and unlimited enjoyment on 65 kilometres of piste at 3,210 m! In addition to pistes, the glacier also boasts a 2 km long high-altitude cross-country run for cross-country skiers, an ice climbing tower, adventure hikes and tours. Aprés ski in the towns is very diverse, so that you can party when you feel like it.Travel Telfes
