Ski area Plessberg-Abertamy

With the "Plessberg-Abertamy" lift pass, you can enjoy around 12 km of pistes and six lifts on the Plešivec in the Ore Mountains. The ski area was newly opened in 2013 and is one of the largest ski areas in the Bohemian Ore Mountains, along with Klínovec. The pistes lie between 721 m and 1,028 m and so below the tree line. As a result, most of the runs lead through romantic forest aisles. To guarantee snow security, the pistes can be artificially snowed. The predominantly blue slopes are ideal for beginners. The slopes "Hana", "Milena" and "Aida", however, have somewhat steeper passages and are therefore marked blue-red or red-black. Advanced skiers will also get their money's worth here.

The longest run by far is the blue "Daniela" piste (No. 7), which runs over sections a (3.2 km) and b (1 km) to the valley station of the 4-seater chairlift. In the lower area, there is a large children's park with four magic carpets, as well as a practice slope with various animal figures and other obstacles. Gastronomy in the ski area includes two restaurants and bistros. The "Ski Bar" at the "Renata" slope ( No. 6) sells drinks and snacks. Lastly, you can round off your day of skiing in the "U Dostyho" après ski bar at the valley station.

Night skiing Nová Role

Night skiing is also very popular in the Czech Republic. Skiing at night is possible in the Bohemian Ore Mountains. The Plessberg ski area has around 8 km of illuminated slopes, making it the largest night ski area in the Ore Mountains. Most of the slopes at Plessberg are lit up in the evening. Night skiing takes place from 18:00 - 22:00 and a whole 7.7 km of pistes are floodlit for night skiing. During operating hours, three lifts are in operation: two 4-seater chairlifts at Plessberg and the tow lift in the valley area of Abertamy. The après-ski bar "U Dostyho" near the valley is also open in the evening hours, so that a good atmosphere is guaranteed and your culinary well-being will also be catered for.

Après ski Nová Role

In the ski area, the mountain restaurants provide large sun terraces and umbrella bars perfect for taking breaks and resting in. At the valley station of the 4-seater chairlift is the "U Dostyho", a classic après ski bar that invites you to stop in during the afternoon. It is also open during night skiing hours until 22:00.

Otherwise, quieter leisure activities such as winter hiking or tobogganing are on the programme in Nová Role. The small forest lake south of the centre invites you to take a walk along the shore. For even more action, it is worth taking a trip to the surrounding area, where many other activities are offered, from tobogganing and ice skating to dog sledding or snowmobiling, snowkiting and ski jumping.

There are a few shops and restaurants in the cosy village centre, but if you are looking for more gastronomic choices, we recommend a trip to nearby Karlovy Vary. There are numerous restaurants, bars and bowling alleys for a varied evening. The famous spa town also has an abundance of spa facilities, rehabilitation centres, thermal baths and spas to promote well-being and health. In the Karlovy Vary region, holistic health promotion is consequently the holiday focus in addition to active winter sports.

Snowpark: Kinderpark Nová Role

In the ski areas of the Bohemian Ore Mountains, freestyling is not neglected, either. The winter sports centres offer snow parks, some of which are very impressive. The Plessberg ski area has also included a fun park in its offer. The small, yet impressive freestyle park with obstacles and kickers is located at the tow lift next to one of the floodlit pistes.
