Ski holidays Alpe d'Huez – a legend, not just for the Tour de France!

Alpe d'Huez

The most famous stage of the Tour de France lies in the impressive Grandes Rousses mountain range: Alpe d'Huez. But the region doesn't just enjoy a reputation of the extraordinary in regards to cycling - the ski area has belonged to the world's top 10 for skiers and snowboarders since the 1968 Olympic Games and has therefore become one of the most renowned winter sports areas in France. Sunny pistes with high snow security up to 3,330 m, unlimited deep snow fun and spectacular snow parks ensure a very varied time on the piste! Alpe d'Huez lies at an altitude of 1,860 m and offers a spellbinding panorama of the Pic Blanc summit (3,330 m) and l’Entendard (3,470 m), as well as various shopping centres with cafés, bars and countless small shops, inviting you to explore them.

Oisans

The region Oisans is located in the French high alpine country and offers the majestic peak Barre des Écrins (4,102 m), the most southern of the Alpine 4,000-er mountains. Further to the South, the Mediterranean Alps join into the massif and become gradually lower towards Cote d'Azur. The region includes the popular massifs of Belldonne, Écrins and Grandes Rousses. Cycling enthusiasts will know the region due to the Tour de France, as here are some of the most challenging legs, e.g. like the route to Alpe d'Huez. But also in winter the region Oisans is highly popular with holiday-makers. Powder snow and sunshine attract many visitors to this region during the winter months, as you will also find many renowned winter sports resorts here.
