Ski area Les Arcs/Peisey-Vallandry
A must for all who have a strong stamina, is the world famous "Aiguille Rouge" piste on the mountain of the same name: with an altitude difference of 2,026 m, it takes you from the peak (3,226 m) over 7 km, along steep precipices, right down to Villaroger. This makes it the piste with the largest height difference in Europe.
Boarders will feel like they are in heaven: fantastic powder slopes, a half-pipe, as well as two fun parks promise paradisal fun! For kids there are three areas available: in Les Arcs 1800 and 200, as well as a large children's area in Peisey-Vallandry, where you can find one of the longest beginner's pistes in Europe - the "de la Forêt"-piste which is 7 km long. Children will have a lot of fun in their own magic land. Those who can't get enough of skiing even after sundown can go night skiing.
With the upgraded "Paradiski Illimité" lift pass you have extra access to the ski area around La Plagne, therefore to a total of 425 kilometres of piste and 127 lifts! The two-storey "Vanoise Express" cable car links the areas of Les Arcs and La Plagne, so you can easily change the ski area you're skiing in and have access to 60 free-of-charge Wi-Fi spots. Furthermore, with the 6 days lift pass "Paradiski Illimité" you can make use of even more delights, such as a half day skiing on the afternoon of your arrival day, one free entry at the Village Igloo Arc 2000 ice cave and much more (see info on site).
In 2021, two new panoramic terraces with views of the Mont Blanc will open: Le Vallandry at an altitude of 2,138 m with opportunities for beginners to practice and a museum of local wildlife as well as the Belvédère der Carreley at an altitude of 2,300 m. Here, you will find two terraces with several photo points and free Wi-Fi!
Night skiing Les Arcs
The ski region Paradiski is a true paradise also when it comes to night skiing. The centre of night skiing fun is on the pistes in Les Arcs. Three night ski pistes are available for skiing in the evening: an approx. 1 km blue piste is illuminated in Les Arcs 1600, and the 3-person chairlift Combettes takes night skiers up to the piste during the extended opening hours. Another floodlit piste can be found in Les Arcs 1800 further up the mountain. Here, the 6-person chairlift Marmottes leads to another, also approx. 1 km blue piste. Both pistes have an easy level of difficulty so that night skiing by floodlight is possible for everybody.A night ski highlight for freestylers and snowboarders can be found in the area "Mille 8" in Les Arcs' district Chantel. The boardercross-fun areal is illuminated by LED lights every Thursday until 20:30. It can be found at the Villard gondola's mountain station.
Après ski Les Arcs
A large offer of recreational activities entices you to spend a day away from the slopes. From dog and horse-drawn sleigh rides, snow tubing, heli-skiing, snow hiking, ice climbing or bowling, to paragliding and laser quest; there is something for everybody here! If you would like to experience something special, you shouldn't miss an exploration tour to the Col de la Chal ice cave, which can be done on foot or also on skis.
Those looking for diversity within the ski area will also get their money's worth. A gondola helps the non-skiers get to the a toboggan or to the 3,800 m² large Aqua Fun Centre which, apart from slides and swimming pools, offers a glass elevator with a direct view of Mont Blanc.
Snowpark: Snowpark Les Arcs
In Les Arcs lies a snowpark which is really worth visiting. It is located between Arc 1600 and Arc 1800 and can be easily reached via the "Clair Blanc" chair lift. Besides 14 different kickers, which are divided by level of difficulty, the park also comprises 9 rails and 2 jibs. All courageous freestylers can use the big Airbag in order to improve their tricks. In the chill zone riders can relax while watching others make magic. Various boardercross runs, distributed throughout the ski area Les Arcs, complete the offer.
A further park for beginners and pros, as well as a boardercross run and a big Airbag can be found in La Plagne.
