Ski area Skiarea Heubach
The next possibility for relaxed skiing you can find 6 km west of Masserberg in the Skiarea Heubach. The manageable slope is divided into the three parts learning park, fun park and snow park, accessible with two lifts and a magic carpet. A double T-bar lift transports you the about 1 km long piste. To the right hand of the lift there is Central Germany's biggest fun park with a length of 600 m, which is considered a black piste due to its partly challenging obstacles.
On the left hand run a blue and a red piste. A single T-bar is available in the lower area of the piste for the practise hill. The most important guests here are the children. A lovely designed practise area with magic carpet and learning carousel is used extensively by the local ski school, to bring skiing closer to the smallest ones in a child-friendly location.
In the Northern part of Masserberg 700 m additional piste for beginners are accessible with another T-bar at the "Ersteberg". Here a ski school also offers lessons and a toboggan hillside next to the piste delights old and young.

Night skiing Masserberg
In the Skiarea Heubach there is a very special highlight when it gets dark every Wednesday and Saturday: Then just under 1 km of the pistes of the Skiarea Heubach get illuminated by floodlight towers for the night skiing.They illuminate the terrain perfectly to make skiers who did not get enough during the day draw their curves into the snow after dusk beneath the starlit sky. In order to manage their way uphill again, two lifts are opened for the night skiing until 21:00.Après ski Masserberg
Après-ski in Masserberg can be either relaxed or sportive. Active tourists and families can choose between a preparated toboggan meadow in Masserberg and a toboggan hillside at the Simmersberg in Schnett. On guided trapper snowshoe hikings or horse-drawn sleigh rides you can discover the Thuringian forest's most romantic side. For winter hikers the Panorama trail to the Rennsteigwarte on the Eselsberg is recommendable. It goes from Masserberg via the Werra spring to the 33 m high observation tower of Masserberg, where you enjoy an adorable view on the Thuringian forest and the Fichtel Mountains.
Even in bad weather, guests don't have to miss out on exercise. The Heubach Sports Centre offers a full range of indoor sports with tennis, squash and a fitness centre. If you still feel strong after all these activities, you can extend the evening programme with a game of bowling or skittles at various inns.

Snowpark: Snowpark Funpark Masserberg
Highlight of the little Skiarea Heubach is its fun park. Parallel to the T-bar lift, 24 obstacles are spread over 20,000 m². In a total of 10 fixed sections, there are several kickers, rails and a wall ride for all skill levels. Thanks to floodlights, the park can be ridden until dusk. Heubach is the tour stop for several freestyle ski and snowboard contests, making it a popular area far beyond Thuringia. North of the Alps, this park is the best that skiing Germany has to offer!
