Ski holidays Mittenwald - a winter sports dream between Zugspitze and Karwendel!

Mittenwald

Mittenwald lies between Zugspitze and Karwendel at an altitude of 923 metres in the middle of the Bavarian Alps. In addition to former winter sports stars such as Martina Beck and Thomas Dreßen, the almost 7,300 inhabitants of the idyllic village are particularly impressed by the historic old town with its artistically painted house facades. Other cultural highlights include the baroque parish church of St Peter and St Paul from the 18th century and the violin-making museum, where the centuries-old craft of violin-making is brought back to life in Mittenwald.

Nature lovers also get their money's worth in the municipality surrounded by the imposing Karwendel mountains. Both in summer and winter, Mittenwald is the perfect starting point for many outdoor activities. The alpine nature here can be explored via a well-developed network of hiking and cycling trails, while the pistes and cross-country ski trails are waiting to be explored in the snow.

Zugspitze

New Year's jumping, Kandahar run and international flair - all this can be experienced round about the Zugspitze! Additionally regional highlights, e.g. the impressive Zugspitze itself or the Partnachklamm, add to the area's charm. The region offers 10 different ski areas in 2 countries all around the Zugspitze. The Zugspitzplatt is very snow sure, where you will find numerous runs just below the Zugspitze. When riding with the Eibsee-lift, which takes you up to approx. 2,950 m, right below the highest point of Germany, you can enjoy the breathtaking panorama. For après ski cosy ski huts, bars, pubs, clubs and discos offer fantastic meeting and party points or you can enjoy a toboggan ride or relax with many other leisure time activities offered in this holiday region.
