Ski area Hochficht
The Austrian ski area "Hochficht" lies in the heart of the Bohemian Forest, directly at the border to Germany and the Czech Republic. The valley station of the Schwarzen lift is only approx. 12 km from Neureichenau and approx. 5 km from the district Lackenhäuser. The ski area comprises approx. 20 km of piste and 8 lifts. For the 2017/18 season, 3 outdated towlifts where removed and replaced by a modern 10-person gondola. The pistes can be fully covered with artificial snow and provide an unforgettable winter experience. Easy to intermediate pistes extend over the altitudes of 933 - 1,337 m and they are especially loved by families and kids.
Ambitious skiers can run riot on the European cup tested FIS-race track, as well as the boarder cross for boarders and skiers. For children, there is the "Sunny Kids Park" with covered magic carpet, as well as a "Junior Route" which leads through the forest.Night owls will have their fun on the approx. 1 km long floodlit piste.
As a special extra, the ski area offers free Internet access at many hotspot. With only a few clicks you can log in to the Wi-Fi network and share your newest pictures or stories on Twitter, Facebook etc.
Furthermore, several well-kept pistes with tow lifts are available in the Neureichenau area. In Lackhäuser you will find the Bergland lift, as well as the Zwerger lift at the camp ground, and at the Frauen mountain there is a 1,500 m long piste with the Dreisessel tow lift, and two further tow lifts can be found in Altreichenau at the House Bergland.

Night skiing Neureichenau
The ski area Hochficht in the Bohemian Forest offers the opportunity to extend you skiing day until the late evening when going night skiing. The nice and small night ski area is located at the two Holzschlag tow lifts directly at the valley run to Holzschlag. The approx. 1 km piste is illuminted in the evening, so that you can enjoy fun on your skis until night time. The lifts' operation hours are extended twice per week, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 17:00 to 20:30. Good news for all nocturnal skiing fans: the tow lifts will be modernised and replaced by a modern 10 person gondola. In Neureichenau there is a great selection of entertainment offers available away from the pistes. These include 2 curling rinks, 4 tobogganing runs, e.g. at the snow-tubing lift at the camping park Lackenhäuser, horse-drawn sleigh-rides, as well as 40 km of perfectly prepared winter hiking trails.
Exercised hikers can even reach the Berggasthof Dreiessel (1,333 m), where you can enjoy a beautiful panorama view of the Bavarian Forest and Bohemian Forest. Many restaurants, guest houses and cafés in all districts offer a perfect chance to rest and tank up energy.
