Ski area Courmayeur

Courmayeur's ski area is very diverse with its 41,5 kilometres of piste and 18 lifts spanning altitudes between 1,205 - 2,755 m. Thanks to the high altitude and the frequent return of the "Genoa Low", the ski area is especially snow sure. Mont Blanc's massive mountain range with endless glaciers and snowfields provides unlimited ski fun for all freeriders and deep snow lovers. Beginners find pistes below Mont Chetir as well as in Zertotta. Challenging pistes of different variations such as the "Competizione" are located along the back of Lago Chécruit towards Entrèyes. A particular highlight is the Punta Helbronner ski run at 3,459 m, with the option to descend into the valley or French Chamonix 20 km away. Snowboarders are recommended to visit the boarder park with rails, jumps, quarter pipes at the Loc, or the Plan de la Grabba with a 500 m long boardercross route. The lift pass "Aostatal", provides you with 868 kilometres of piste, as this is valid in resorts such as Cervinia, Valtournenche, Monterosa, Pila, Brusson or la Thuile. You are sure never to be bored here!

Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy

To ensure safety on the ski slopes in Italy, stricter safety regulations have been in force since 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.

Après ski Courmayeur

The ski area and valley station in and around Courmayeur offer various possibilities to round off a successful day on the pistes. Special hut evenings in Maison Vielle am Col Chécrouit are popular. Skidoos take guests to the hut and, after a cosy evening meal, ski and torch light processions accompany guests back down the valley. Typical regional and Italian cuisine such as Gorgonzola mousse, truffel risotto or filet of venison are served in numerous small restaurants. Delicious antipasti is available in the "Le Vieux Pommier". A large history tour can be taken at the "Duca degli Abruzzi" museum in the centre of the Courmayeur. For more action, there are a variety of sports and leisure activities available, including tennis, squash, curling, hang-gliding or a skating rink.
