Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy

To ensure safety on the ski slopes in Italy, stricter safety regulations have been in force since 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.

Night skiing Dobbiaco

In several ski areas in Italy you can go night skiing on illuminated pistes in the evening. After the daily opening hours, frequent skiers and night owls can use the opportunity to take a few turns in the snow in the floodlight, also in the night ski area "3 Zinnen Dolomiten". Every Tuesday and Friday you have the opportunity to go night skiing near Dobbiaco, in San Candido on the Haunold, from 19:00 to 22:00. The approx. 3 km night ski piste will be illuminated to serve nightly skiing fun. Alternatively to night skiing, you can also go night tobogganing at Haunold. When looking for refreshment, the Riese-Haunold hut invites you to spend a cosy evening in the hut after night skiing.

Après ski Dobbiaco

After coming back from skiing one can take it slow in the family-friendly resort. Of course you can end the evening in quaint mountain huts as well as in the numerous restaurants and cafés.

All those who want to be active after skiing should make a trip to the 2 km long toboggan run in Dobbiaco, and further runs can be found in San Candido and Sesto. Ice skaters will get their money's worth on the ice rink in the Sportzone. A more quiet alternative are the winter hiking paths around the resort, from which you can fully enjoy the beautiful view over the Dolomites and especially the Three Peaks. You can decide yourself how difficult you want the hike to be: flat paths lead over Talboden, but you can also take hikes up to altitudes of 1,650 m that last several hours. Another option is snowshoe hiking, either on one's own or on a guided tour. Furthermore, a horse-drawn sleigh ride may be more comfortable.

Snowpark: Kids Skicross Park Dobbiaco

Freestylers get their money's worth at the Kids Skicross Park in the Haunold ski area. Now even amateurs can try their hand on the legendary ski cross world cup slope. It features 6 steep turns, 12 waves and 4 kickers.

The family programme has recently been rounded off with two new Family Funslopes with banked turns, waves, snow tunnels, bridges and snails. These are located on the "Rotwand" and "Helm" ski mountains.
