Ski area Plan de Corones
With the "Piculin" gondola, you can head up from the Pikolein district straight into the ski area. Thanks to this lift connection, Plan de Corones is connected to both the Alta Badia ski area in the south as well as the popular Sellarunde. A shuttle bus runs here as well.
Plan de Corones as a whole counts as a family-friendly ski area with plenty of offers for children. Families and beginners should be sure to check out the Korer cable car with its 8-person gondola. Here, you'll find a 100 m wide piste with a difference of 160 m in altitude. At the peak of Plan de Corones, the "Croniworld" offers a place for parents to watch their children's progress while enjoying a gorgeous 360° panoramic view.
Experienced winter sports fans can test their skills on the steep paths of the two valley runs, "Sylvester" and "Herrnegg". For night owls, four illuminated pistes are also available to enjoy. Snowboarders can also let off steam on the halfpipe. Hardly any other ski areas presents itself as so diverse as Plan de Corones. The area is also known for hosting various sporting events such as the Snowboard World Cup.
In order to guarantee the perfect skiing experience, the ski area is regularly upgraded: the popular Sonnenlift was replaced, completely renewed and many new features like heated seats and protective covers were added. The Miara cabins now have free Wi-Fi and the artificial snow-making facilities were improved. In the 19/20 season, the non-detachable Rara chairlift was replaced by the modern "Skitrans Bronta". Since its construction, it has held the title of the shortest 12-seater gondola lift in the world and connects the valley stations of the "Miara" and "Pedagá" gondolas.
For an even larger selection of pistes, you can book the "Dolomiti Superski" upgrade, of which grants you access to 1,200 km of piste and 450 lifts! In "Plan de Corones", you will have access to free Wi-Fi hotspots at various lift pass distributors. When choosing the "Dolomiti Superski" upgrade, you'll also have access to several other Wi-Fi hotspots at mountain stations and eateries throughout the varying ski areas.
Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy
To ensure safety on the ski slopes in Italy, stricter safety regulations have been in force since 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.Night skiing San Martino in Badia
The ski region Plan de Corones offers extended skiing fun with several night ski areas. One attractive piste with floodlight can be found nearby Riscone. Night skiing here takes place on the 1.7 km "Korer" piste. Every Tuesday and Saturday from 19:30 - 22:00, night owls can extend their skiing day until late in the evening. Tobogganing is also allowed on the piste and sledges can be hired on site.Another piste for skiing at night-time can be found in Terenten. The 1.3 km piste is illuminated every Friday during the extended opening hours from 19:00 - 22:00. The Guggenberg lift in Taisten and the approx. 1.5 km piste operate for night skiing every Friday from 19:30 - 22:00. Additionally, a 700 m piste is illuminated for night skiing in San Vigilio di Marebbe. There, the Cianross lift is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 20:00 - 22:00.

Furthermore, San Martino in Badia is a wonderful place for snow shoe hikes. Five easy to intermediates tours from 3.6 km to 12 km are waiting to be explored. Several beautiful routes for ski touring are also available. For example, a challenging, approx. 10 km ski tour leads from Campill up to the local mountain Peitlerkofel.
Snowpark: Snowpark Kronplatz San Martino in Badia
From its wonderful panorama to its high quality of pistes, the ski area Plan de Corones meets all ambitious winter sports fans' expectations. Freestylers can let of steam shredding and jibbing in two snowparks at Plan de Corones.
The "Easy Park" is located at 2,230 m, right below the "Belvedere" mountain station and is the perfect park for beginners. The obstacles at easy levels spread over a length of 800 m and ease the way into the world of freestyling. Kicker, boxes, rails, a truck tire and a 130 m half pipe care for the necessary elevation.
Another fun adventure can be in the "Jib Park" located on the "Korer" piste nearby the "Bruneck/Reischach" valley station. Various obstacles on a length of 300 m invite bold beginners to face to challenge so that they can once be one of the professionals.
