Ski area Santa Caterina

The lift pass "Bormio" is valid in the ski areas Cima Piazzi-San Colombano and Bormio, as well as in Santa Caterina – which opens up 110 kilometres of piste and 31 lifts to you. Alongside the sheer altitude of the ski area (1,225 – 3,012 m), there are snow cannons here to ensure high levels of snow. Santa Caterina, which was the venue for the ski world championship in 1985 and 2005, offers 35 km of piste with mostly intermediate runs (27 km). The 7 lifts, among them 2 modern 8-person gondolas, easily take you into the ski area.

The greatest challenge surely is the 2 km long black run from "Adler" covering 600 m altitude difference. In addition, the black piste named after the world champion "Deborah Compagnoni" is reserved for pros. The longest descent in Santa Caterina measures a proud 3.7 km and presents a drop in altitude of 1,000 m.

Boarders can let loose at the snow park and the free-ride area in Bormio. The pistes in Cima Piazzi-San Colombanoare, on the other hand, easier and perfect for trips with the family.

Santa Caterina is known to be the perfect place for pros, especially as it has been host to the Ski World Championship. But does that also count for freestylers? It does, for both beginners and pros. The "Snowpark Bormio", located in the homonymous ski area, has something for everyone with its three different lines. The easy line, with 2, 3 and 5 m long fun boxes and a 1 m kicker, is perfect for newbies to get going. First tricks and jumps can be practised here perfectly. The medium and rails line is better for the more advances riders or even the experts on this terrain. Various obstacles, beginning with a step-up, via a 3 m bonk ball and a 9 m box can be combined with 2 kickers with 5 and 10 m tables, and really can get you flying high.

A park-own shaping team is on the go daily to maintain the standard of the obstacles and is the heart and soul of the creative set-up. Sounds good? Yes, we think so, too.
