Ski area Rosskopf

The Rosskopf is the sun-drenched local mountain of Sterzing, the valley station is only a 5-minute walk from the town centre. The 3 lifts provide easy access to the ski area, which extends at an altitude of 948 - 2,120 metres and offers wonderful panoramic views of the Dolomites. A total of 20 km of piste fun awaits you here. There are also 2 conveyor belts for beginners.

The ski area with its mostly easy and medium-difficulty pistes is particularly popular with leisure skiers. Families appreciate the children's ski school, which has been awarded the Gold seal of approval.

The upgrade to the "Südtiroler Wipptal" lift pass also gives you the opportunity to ski in the Ladurns and Ratschings-Jaufen/Kalcher Alm ski areas on a total of approx. 65 kilometres of pistes (see ski region).

Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy

To ensure safety on the ski slopes in Italy, stricter safety regulations have been in force since 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.

Après ski Vipiteno

After a day on skis in Vipiteno, you can relax in one of the cosy huts in the ski area or in one of the numerous traditional restaurants in the resort centre. You will even find a gourmet restaurant enticing you with culinary highlights. The history pedestrian's zone invites you to take extensive shopping strolls in snowy alleyways.

Away from the pistes, the picturesque small town has more to offer than a good cuisine and shopping facilities. For example you will find the longest floodlit toboggan run in Italy which can also be covered in artificial snow: the toboggan run at Rosskopf, which was elected winner in tests by the ADAC. In the ice hall, guests can also try out their skills on ice. A little slower, but all the more romantic hours can be spent on the winter hiking paths around the resort. If you want to give your muscles a break, you can let yourself be spoiled in the modern, 1,120 m² large sauna and spa area "Balneum".
