Ski area Flims-Laax-Falera
One of the highlights of the many descents is the "Fatschas", the black pistes on the Crap Sogn Gion mountain, a former world cup venue. A paradise for deep snow fans is the 2,675 m altitude slope of Cassons: here, the largest portion of the descent is not prepared, to make it possible for you to make the first tracks in the freshly fallen snow. Wide slopes, on the other hand, can be found at Spaligna and on the Vorab glacier. The longest slope of the ski area measures a full 17 km, and starts on the glacier. Children find their place in any of the three snow fairytale lands, located at the three valley stations.
Those who would like to share their experiences of the white powder snow, a self-built ski jump or the sun shining over the Vorab glacier with their loved ones at home do not need to wait until they are home. In the ski area there are several Wi-Fi hotspots to which you can connect to send messages, photos or videos.
The Flims-Laax-Falera ski area is also not short of snow parks. In four different parks you have a choice of jumps, box and rails. On top of that, you can find the largest half-pipe in Europe there!
Après ski Flims Laax Falera
If you want to reload your batteries after a strenuous day on the piste you can choose from the many ski huts within and out of the ski area. Flims and Laax provide a board range of gastronomy offers - from a sturdy brewery, via cosy inns and pubs with Swiss specialities on the menus, right up to Asian noddle bars. If you want to stay active you can try some of the 100 km of winter hiking trails or go on a ride on the toboggan runs. The 3 km long track from Foppa to Flims is also illuminated on a regular basis.
Snowpark: NoName Snowpark Flims Laax Falera
Laax is a real paradise for freestylers. The ski area facts are reason enough to believe so: a total of four fun parks are located here. Further it also hosts Europe's largest half-pipe, "The Beast", and the annual Burton European Open (Europe's most important snowboard contest). But not only that: founded in 2003, the Freestyle Academy in Laax has taken to training the newcomers to this sport. An additional highlight is the freestyle indoor area, which opened in 2010. It is the only of its kind within Europe and is suited to snowboarders and skiers, as well as skaters and bikers. Precise training conditions are given here with trampolines, indoor kickers and a large landing pit.
Three of the Laax fun parks are located in close proximity to the centre point of the ski area, the mountain station Crap Sogn Gion. Here is the "Beginner Park" with 5 kickers and 10 further obstacles, such as rails and boxes, where the fist attempts can be tried. Advanced freestylers can run riot in the "Ils Plauns" with kickers and 15 further obstacles. Or they can test their courage on the largest half-pipe in Europe. It is located in the "NoName Park", together with further jumps and slides and the Café NoName, for the break in between. The "Curnius Snowpark" lies on the Vorab glacier, at 3,000 m altitude, and offers kickers and boxes for all skill levels.
