Ski area Grindelwald/First & Kleine Scheidegg/Männlichen
The Grindelwald/First and Kleine Scheidegg/Männlichen ski areas comprise a total of 151 kilometres of pistes. First, with its wide range of easy pistes and a special 30 km zone, is particularly suitable for beginners. But this area is also an absolute insider tip among snowboarders. The "White Elements" snow park makes the hearts of freestyle fans beat faster. The piste "First-Egg-Bort-Grindelwald" with a length of 6 km and a difference in altitude of 1,118 m demands everything even from experts and is considered one of the most difficult pistes in the region.
The Kleine Scheidegg/Männlichen ski area is one of the most popular in Switzerland and is especially known for the approx. 4.5 km long World Cup downhill run on the Lauberhorn. But beginners also get their money's worth on wide pistes.
Night skiing Grindelwald
Night skiing is as popular in Switzerland as it is in other Alpine countries. Switzerland has quite a few ski areas that illuminate their pistes for skiing at night time. The ski area Grindelwald/First is one of those night ski areas. From the middle of December, the night ski piste is opened for the so called "bodmiNIGHT" in the Bodmi Arena in Grindelwald. Every Wednesday and Friday evening, night skiing is possible from 19:00 - 22:00. Apart from night skiing, you can of course also enjoy the atmosphere with a glass of mulled wine a little away from the piste. With the Jungfrau lift pass, the ticket for night skiing is for free.Après ski Grindelwald
For non-skiers there are 100 km of winter hiking trails. Further there are 5 different toboggan runs in Grindelwald - one with 8 km length, or the 15 km long run "Big Pintenfritz". In the sports centre itself there are various activities on offer: from indoor pool, via high-rope parcours and sauna complex to ice rink with Curling facilities.
Snowpark: White Elements Snowpark Grindelwald
The Snowpark "White Elements" in Grindelwald is nothing to sneeze at. Divided into two parks, the park offers good fun in the jumps and rails for beginners, intermediate as well as for pros. The 650 metre long advanced park at the "Bärgelegg" lift awaits you with its 25 metre high kickers and a 130 m long half pipe and is nothing for people with weak nerves.
At the "Oberjoch" is the beginners park located, which with its small kickers and boxes is perfectly suited for freestyle beginners. At the Schilt lift, the four-track Audi Skicross Park is located. Daily prepared, the "White Elements Snowpark" leaves no wishes unfulfilled. Moreover, in a collaboration with the "Summit Foundation it has an engagement for climate friendly skiing and snowboarding. International contests like the "End of Season Jam" provide further incentives to pay this park a visit.
In Grindelwald, there is a special park for free riders. In a large field at the Mammut ATC avalanche training centre, you can try out the technology used in searching for avalanche victims.
