Ski holidays Leukerbad - spa holiday resort in the Alps!
Leukerbad
The idyllic resort of Leukerbad is located at an altitude of 1,402 m in the lower Dala valley and is the largest thermal bath and spa holiday resort in the Alps. The Romans were even aware of the hot springs in the valley and today three public thermal baths can still be found at the foot of the Gemmi pass. The resort is equally inviting for winter hiking through a beautiful mountain backdrop, and is an ideal starting point for skiing and snowboarding in the ski area Torrent-Leukerbad. People interested in culture are also in good hands in Leukerbad, as the International Literary Festival, with readings and literary-themed walks, takes place yearly. Further highlights include the celebrations for the Swiss National Day on the August 1st, with the illumination of the Gemmiwand and fireworks display, as well as the Shepherd's Festival on the Gemmi and the wine week in Varen.Rhône Valley
The lovely Rhone Valley is located in Switzerland, stretching from the Rhône glacier right down to Lake Geneva. It's landscape is especially beautiful, and it offers an amazing variety of flora and fauna. Within the mild climate of the lower regions wine, fruit and vegetables are perfectly suited to grow here, whilst the surrounding 4,000-metres peaks have been turned into fantastic ski areas, attracting tourist from all over. The river Rhône is the heart of the valley, giving it it's very own flair - no matter at which time of the year. Deeply crevassed side valleys have created a fascinating landscape over a course of millions of years.Travel Leukerbad
