Ski holidays Mörel-Filet – dream holidays in a glacier region

Mörel-Filet

A fantastic valley. A breathtaking glacier. Unendless amounts of winter fun and natural adventure. The Swiss Aletsch Arena region has a lot to offer. At an altitude of around 750 m, you will find the villages of Mörel and Filet, which merged in 2009. Both resorts are established starting points for many skiers and snowboarders in the Rhône Valley, as you can quickly get to the popular Aletsch Arena from here. The municipality of Mörel-Filet has around 700 residents and is now a reasonable size as a result of the merger. In the two resort districts, there are several things to experience and the region offers many leisure activities, such as a public indoor pool, saunas, taverns and restaurants. With the imposing Aletsch Glacier serving as a backdrop, Mörel-Filet has a strong appeal for winter sports fans and hikers in the winter as well as the summer. Mörel-Filet is easy to reach with a car, bus or train.

In the centre of Mörel are two lifts, with which you can reach the Ried-Mörel (1,188 m) or Greich (1,361 m) stations within a few minutes. From there, the Riederalp (1,925 m) is the nearest station. Once at the top, winter sports fans can expect a large selection of slopes and lifts. In addition, you have the opportunity to go even higher, to the Riederfurka (2,065 m), Hohfluh (2,227 m) or Moosfluh (2,333 m). An enormous advantage for the environment and for tourism is that the Riederalp West, Riederalp Mitte, Bettmeralp and Fiescheralp stations, as well as the villages located there, are all car-free.

Behind these villages lies the majestic Aletsch Glacier. The 23 km long natural wonder of the Valais mountains is an impressive example of the beauty of the Alps and is a true attraction. When moving through this landscape, there's no question as to why the region "Schweizer Alpen Jungfrau-Aletsch" has been names as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Fieschertal

A holiday in the Swiss Aletsch Arena will make you relax and experience impressive nature: the valley and holiday resorts Mörel-Filet, Betten, Fieschertal, Fiesch and Lax can be reached comfortably by car. The health resorts Riederalp, Bettmeralp und Fiescheralp at the Aletsch Glacier are all car-free and can be reached via gondola.

In the Aletsch Arena you have a great view of the most beautiful 4,000-meter mountains of the Valais. Once you reach the sun terrace high above the Rhone Valley, you will be able to enjoy a superlative alpine panoramic view as well as a ski area that leaves no wish unfulfilled:

The ski area Aletsch Arena offers ski and snowboard fun on 104 km of pistes. You can also marvel at the longest ice flow in the Alps (23 km), which is part of the UNESCO world culture heritage site "Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch".

Furthermore, the Aletsch Arena features 72 km of winter hiking trails and gives you the opportunity to try paragliding, night skiing, tobogganing and many more winter activities.
