Ski area Zermatt
The lift pass "International" also gives you access to the Italian Cervinia, giving you an extension to altogether 360 km of pistes (see region). If you're looking for the ultimate round trip of all ski mountains in the region we recommend trying the Matterhorn Ski Safari. On two different routes (Safari Silver and Safari Gold) you can ski on fantastic slopes all day without taking the same lift twice. Starting at Rothorn you can ski vie Riffelberg, Theodul glacier, Trockener Steg, Matterhorn glacier paradise, Breuil-Cervinia, Testa Grigia and, after all, back to Zermatt via Stafelalp.
As if that much choice of piste wasn't enough, the region offers further specials, such as e.g. the "slow slopes". All skiers are expected to ski slow and controlled on these specially signed pistes, making for a perfect area for careful skiers and wallowers who are not looking for the thrill of speed. Several snow parks and a total of 36 km secured off-piste tracks for experienced free riders round off the diverse offer at Matterhorn.
Night skiing Zermatt
Waving almost empty pistes down the valley on a starry night and admiring the lights of Zermatt is an experience of a very special kind. Between December and April, snow lovers have the opportunity to explore the slopes on the Rothorn at a later hour. A delicious fondue menu at the Rothorn Restaurant is also included when you buy a night ski ticket. Here skiers and snowboarders can fortify themselves for the following experience.Après ski Zermatt
Those looking for a quieter evening can visit one of over 90 restaurants, whether hearty, simple fare in "Schwyzer Stübli" or international cuisine in "The Pipe" (mix of African, Indian, Mexican and Thai dishes). Moreover, you can play tennis, go ice skating, ice climbing or paragliding. The surrounding area also offers many cultural highlights, so a visit to the Matterhorn Museum is worth your while.
Snowpark: Snowpark Zermatt
Being the largest and highest-located all-year ski area in the Alps, Zermatt and the Theodul glacier offer quite a range of possibilities to burn off steam on 365 days a year. No matter if it is two slim boards or one wide one under your feet, ambitious winter sports fans can really enjoy freestyling here. The "Zermatt Snow Park" offers various obstacles for beginners and pros of the scene, which allow for spectacular jumps and tricks. In winter the park consists of a beginner line with 12 jumps and 12 boxes as well as an obstacle course with three rails and further jumps and a rail garden for advanced riders.
Professional boarders tend to the park conditions all year round and even in summer it is open to public, in a slightly adapted form. Newbies and pros will feel right at home here at 3,250 m altitude and over a length of 1,200 m, underlined with perfect obstacle conditions! You should really not miss this!
