Ski holidays Park City - a Western town with largest ski area of the US!

Park City

The small Western town of Park City lies in the middle of the Wasatch Mountains and at the same time only around 30 minutes away from Salt Lake City International Airport. But it's not just it's fantastic connection that makes this town such an attractive destination. In 2002, Salt Lake City was the host for the Olympic Winter Games. One third of all the events took place in the three ski areas of Park City, which brought a fair amount of fame to the town. Today the region is one of the most popular ski resorts in the USA. The local ski area Park City Mountain and the neighbouring Canyons form the largest interconnected ski area in the US with around 250 km of piste. A free-of-charge ski bus service connects the resorts of the ski region so that even the Deer Valley ski area can be reached in no time.

The former silver mine town Park City is located at 2,134 m altitude, and apart from the numerous prepared pistes as well as off-piste possibilities in the Back Bowls, you can also enjoy many cultural delights such as the historical Main Street with its shops, restaurants and saloons, art galleries and museums. Several spa and wellness options ensure total relaxation. Those looking for fun alternatives to skiing should try a hot-air balloon ride, snow-shoe hike, or a cruise through the area by snow-mobile. The area is particularly attractive because of the short distances between accommodations, shops, restaurants, and pistes.

Wasatch Back

In Summit County you will find the 39 highest mountains in Utah, which is the reason for the name "Summit"; the county itself is located at an average altitude of 2,557 m. Utah's slogan "Greatest Snow on Earth" invites its guests to try the snow for it's perfection. The close proximity to the airport of Salt Lake City, Utah's capital, makes the region highly accessible. The fantastic ski areas surely are impressive and are essential to the region's individuality as a holiday destination. You should try it yourself - it's worth it!
