Ski area Hohentauern

With 11 km of piste and 6 connecting lifts, this ski area is small but an insider's tip for pleasure skiers. Family-friendliness is of primary importance here, the magic carpet and the children's carousel offer the perfect opportunity for the first swings. Passionate skiers and snowboarders will also enjoy the perfectly prepared natural snow pistes of all difficulty levels.

The "Wichtelhütte" with a sun terrace and beautiful mountain panorama view on 1,700 m altitude makes for a great in-between break or after ski evening.

Après ski Hohentauern

Hohentauern is rather known for its quiet and slow-paced atmosphere. After a warm "Jagertee" or a home-made Schnapps at the "Wichtelhütte", it's off to the valley.

If you are looking for some sporty activities after a day skiing, you should try out e.g. snow shoe hiking or curling. Depending on weather conditions, a natural ice rink can be found at the Weberteich pond. The toboggan run also provides for good fun. Skijoring is available for the brave among you!

Those who prefer to let the day end more quietly will enjoy the several guest houses in Hohentauern or e.g. the Aqualux spa in Fohnsdorf.
