Arrivals from Europe usually land in Vancouver (450 km) or Calgary (650 km). From there, a domestic flight can take you to Kelowna and a shuttle will bring you to the ski area. Big White lies at an altitude of 1,755 m and leaves quite the impression with 7.5 m of gorgeous, dry, powdery snow ("champagne powder") per year. The offers for accommodations can range from cosy apartments to luxurious hotels. All can be comfortably reached with skis. The ski area provides over 118 pistes and 16 lifts, of which the 6-er, "New Snow Ghost Express", is guaranteed to have a short waiting time due to its rapid nature. A very special kind of experience in Big White Ski Resort is "Tree-Skiing", where you can ski between snow- and ice-covered trees, whose bizarre appearances resemble "snow ghosts".
Okanagan Valley
The ski resort Big White lies in the sunny Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, 60 km east of the city Kelowna, and also belongs to Ski Canada Magazine's 3 best-quality ski areas in the world.
